Production process route

The sulfonation reaction of nitrobenzene and fuming sulfuric acid was carried out at 115 ℃, the reaction product was neutralized to neutrality with liquid alkali, and filtered to obtain a sodium salt solution of m-nitrobenzene sulfonate. The solution is reduced with iron filings as catalyst to obtain sodium m-aminobenzene sulfonate, and the iron sludge is removed by filtration, and the filtrate is the sodium salt solution of m-aminobenzene sulfonate. Add sulfuric acid to the acidification pot until the Congo red test paper turns blue and keep the temperature at 70°C. Then the sodium m-aminobenzene sulfonate slurry was obtained by centrifugal filtration.

Toxicity and protection

This product is highly toxic. Swallowing or absorption through the skin can cause severe poisoning. However, its toxicity is much less than that of aniline and does not cause carcinogenesis. During the production process, it is necessary to prevent accidental clothing or splashing and skin, the production equipment should be sealed to prevent leakage, and the operators should wear protective equipment.
